Minor oral surgery
Minor oral surgery is the branch of dentistry that is concerned with surgical aspects of dental treatment. This includes removal of retained and buried roots, broken teeth, wisdom teeth, and cysts of the upper and lower jaws. It also includes apical surgery to the roots of teeth know as apicectomies as well as biopsies and removal of small soft tissue lesions in the mouth.
These procedures are carried out under local anaesthetic with or without intravenous sedation. Langley Dental Practice accepts referrals for patients for this type of service if they have a GP within the Rochdale Borough on an NHS contract via the dental CATS service. We are also happy to accept referrals from practices outside of our area on a private basis.
Our team is led by Tariq Drabu who is a General Dental Council registered specialist in oral surgery. Langley Dental Practice has been providing this type of service to local referring dentists for over eight years. This has not only reduced hospital waiting times but has also saved the NHS considerable sums of money since treatment within a practice is far cheaper than that within a hospital.
If you would like to refer patients for oral surgery services or if you would like to self refer for minor oral surgery procedures please contact the practice on 0161 643 2428.
