Our Dental Practice

There has been a dental practice on this site since 1965. In 1998 the practice was bought by Tariq Drabu as a small 2 chair facility with around 1500 patients. Within a couple of years the practice had rapidly expanded and was not able to cope with the demand from patients seeking dental care.

In 2005 the practice underwent a total rebuild and refurbishment - a project that took 6 months. Support for this expansion came from local MP Jim Dobbin and the Minister at the Department of Health Rosie Winterton MP, both of whom personally visited the practice to show support. Tariq Drabu invested more than £350,000 to secure the rebuild and improve dental services for the residents of Middleton. The practice more than tripled in size and expanded from 2 to 4 chairs. High tech dedicated cross infection areas and modern brand new dental equipment were installed. When the practice reopened in October 2005 it was featured in both local and national press and on TV.

Our practice is fully air-conditioned and benefits from the latest technologies, including full computerisation and digital x-rays which reduce the dosage to patients. The practice is DDA compliant and our staff speak several languages including French, Urdu, Punjabi and Kashmiri.

The practice is one of 2 sites in the Rochdale borough which deliver specialist primary care oral surgery services via the NHS HMR CATS Scheme. In 2011 the practice achieved the BDA Good Practice Award. The BDA Good Practice Scheme is UK dentistry's leading quality assurance programme. This external quality management system recognises that Langley Dental Practice demonstrates a visible commitment to providing quality dental care to nationally recognised best practice standards.

Langley Dental Practice is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The CQC regulate all primary dental care services - both private and NHS - and publish up-to-date information from their assessments. A copy of their inspection report of Langley Dental Practice can be found here.
